Cell Renewal or Skin Exfoliation - How to Exfoliate

Skin Exfoliation is the act of shedding of dead skin cells to to allow newer, healthier skin cells become more visible. This act is done almost on a daily basis, even when you sleep. Nature is doing its job by making sure your skin exfoliates itself without your help naturally. Scientists however found that when the dead skin cells are removed, the new cells below begin multiplying faster and skin looks fresh and rejuvenated. This is known as cell renewal.

Regular skin exfoliation over time, will increase the skin's capacity to absorb moisture, reduce fine lines and diminish acne. Even aging skin slows down the natural cellular renewal or skin exfoliation process. Stress, pollution and UV rays also tend to slow down epidermal turnover time.

When skin skin exfoliation is a naturally occurring process, most of the skin types needs assistance. When your skin type is oily, a lot of difficulty comes in exfoliating the dead skin cells as oily skin tends to saturate dead skin cells and makes it difficult for these dead cells to fall off naturally. When the skin type is dead, then the skin accumulates dead skin cells too quickly creating a dull appearance to the skin, in addition to, inhibiting effective natural skin exfoliation and needed moisture absorption. Most people's skin falls somewhere between these two skin types, but unless you have perfectly balanced skin (which is rare) almost all of us will benefit from regular skin exfoliation.

Cells from the dermis age as they move upwards. By the time they reach the surface, they are dead and shed off. These dead cells, removed from the epidermis, are extremely tiny and not visible to the naked eye. The normal cycle is about six to eight weeks.

So, I think skin exfoliation is very necessary for anyone who wants to look smart and beautiful. This can be achieved in several ways:

* You can easily remove dead skin cells from your face by using a facial scrub once in a week. More frequent use can also damage your skin. Avoid very granular scrubs as they damage the skin and lead to darkening of the skin.

* AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acids) is a fruit acids and is water-soluble. An moisturiser containing AHA can be used every day.

* BHA (Beta Hydroxy Acid) is salicylic acid and is oil-soluble. It can be also used for skin exfoliation.

* You can also use a peel-off face mask. This can be used once in three to four weeks.

* You should not even try any of the above tips if you suffering from pus-filled pimples.

Want to learn the correct procedure of exfoliation?? I know you answer is yes. Just follow here for tips on how to exfoliate your skin effectively and properly.

Tips to Keep Your Nails Strong and Sexy

When you write down your shopping list, as you punch a phone number into your cell, while you wash dishes, do the ironing, clean the windows, or do one hundred other things that women do on any given day do you take notice of the condition of your nails?

Our hands are such an integral part of our daily lives, and constantly, we risk their health and strength, often without even noticing, because of the hustle and bustle of our day-to-day activities. Take a few moments each day, or at least a few times a week, to monitor the condition of your nails the color, the texture, the appearance of ridges or white marks.

Make a greater effort to take good care of your nails, and you will be thrilled with the way they complement your wardrobe and your own personal style. Consider the following tips as a way to enhance the health and quality of your nails.

Great, Healthy Nails

Apply speed-dry nail polish when time is of the essence.

Drink lots of water. Keep your body hydrated everyday to maintain healthy nails.

Fortify your diet with FDA approved vitamins or supplements. Your fingernails count on you to be responsible with your health and your diet. Unless instructed otherwise by your physician, increase your daily doses of Vitamin A, Vitamin C, calcium, folic acid, protein, Vitamin B12, and zinc.

Touch up your manicure on a daily basis to prevent chips and cracks.

Your nails depend on you to maintain a healthy diet. Take in lots.

Nail polish tips:

Finish with a clear topcoat to add gloss and sheen.

Start with a base coat to strengthen and protect the nails.

Store nail polish in the refrigerator to maintain a smooth consistency.

Try not to store nail polish in a room that becomes cold. The nail polish bottles may break without warning, leaving you with a big mess.

To avoid breaking nails or brittle nails:

Avoid using your nails as tools. This means no picking, scratching, digging, pinching, etc. You know who you are!

Increase the amount of calcium in your diet.

Use products containing alcohol, especially perfumed lotions, sparingly. These items can make nails prone to breaking.

Best Mascara, Eye Makeup, eye Mascara, Liners, Curlers and Application Tips to Highlight your Eyes

Mascara coats the lashes, making them thick, long, lustrous and more noticeable. You can choose from 3 different forms of mascara - water-based, water-proof and the mixed variety.

Water-based mascaras can be applied quickly because they dry rapidly. They can also be removed easily, so they are gentle to the lashes and the eyes. But there are several problems with their use: because the water evaporates quickly, the lashes tend to clump together; as the film is not water-proof, the mascara smudges easily when it comes in contact with water, tears, and perspiration; because of the high water content, these products are difficult to preserve and have a short keeping life.

Because of these disadvantages of waterbased mascaras, the water-proof variety has become popular. Water-proof mascaras are generally long wearing, water-proof and smudge-proof; but they are difficult to remove and you may have to use a cosmetic cleaner to remove them. Because they take long to dry they have a tendency to smear unless you are careful. Though they colour and appear, to lengthen the lashes well, they do not thicken them much. They are however a good investment, because they are resistant to contamination and can be used even years after they have been manufactured.

The third variety of mascara is a combination of the earlier two types. These dry quickly, produce little or no smudging and are the latest in the field of mascaras.
Purpose of Mascara

Mascara only used to be available in black, but nowadays you can find it in all sorts of colours. So while black mascara was used for the sole purpose of making your eyelashes stand out without calling attention to the fact that you have mascara on, coloured mascara is now used to make a bold statement. If you choose coloured mascara, it is recommended that you stick to darker colours like navy blue or plum, as opposed to light blue or green. The latter is just too bizarre and unnatural for our tastes. Mascara comes in a wand with a tube, there are straight wands and there are curved wands. The shape of the wand is a matter of preference so you have the permission to experiment with both.

Skin Care: Know your Skin Type

Have you ever wondered about your skin type? While your skin can change from day to day, it is prone to a having a certain type. Knowing what your personal skin type is can help you to care for your skin and achieve the best results from your skin care.

There are basically five skin types: normal, dry, oily, sensitive, and combination skin. There are certain characteristics for each, and if your skin has the specific characteristics of a particular one, then it is safe to say that's your skin type.

Dry skin can feel rough and tight, and is usually not acne prone. This tightness can be felt even after bathing. Another way to tell if you have dry skin is to take your fingernail and gently run it over your arm or leg. If you leave a line, you have dry skin.

Oily skin can be more problematic, as it frequently causes acne and blemishes. You may feel like your skin is constantly damp, or that you have a film or residue on your chin or forehead when you wake up in the morning. You also may find it easy for your skin to tan, and you probably don't burn often.

Normal skin presents itself evenly and is generally free of any kind of blemishes or marks. Pores are normal sized and not enlarged, and your skin does not easily become irritated.

If you have sensitive skin, you will find that your skin can have a negative reaction to things such as laundry detergent, perfumes, or even deodorant. You may break out in rashes easily, and your skin may be very prone to burning or spotting from the sun.

Combination skin can be described as being a little bit of each of the above. Your forehead may be oily and have acne, your cheeks may be dry, your wrists sensitive to perfume.

Once you have identified your skin type, you can take the necessary steps to get the most healthful glow out of your skin, whatever type it turns out to be.

Perfect Makeup in Minutes

No matter what time of day it is, or how busy you are, there are certain golden rules when applying your makeup. Here is a short guide to getting your war paint right every time!

Laying The Foundations

Foundation should be the perfect match to your skin tone. Nobody looks good when they have skin the color of a pumpkin! And worse yet, beware of the tidemarks at the jaw line. Always make sure that your foundation is well blended if you want to avoid looking like youre wearing a mask.

Top tip - if you use a shimmering moisturizer before you apply your foundation then your skin will absolutely glow!

Dark Circles?

No way! There is a huge range of products on the market for different tones and textures of concealer. Dont be tempted to go two shades lighter than your natural color, as it will make the darkness of your skin more gray and muddy. And be careful not to lay it on too thick. Apart from the fact that it looks like youre wearing too much makeup, it may also damage the delicate skin beneath your eyes. Remember, you want to tint the discoloration, not mask it.

Top tip - Have a good look at the actual color of your dark circles. If your darkness is gray, lightly apply a soft pink eye shadow to the circles before applying your foundation. If your darkness is more of a blue hue, use a light peach color first instead.

Powdering Up

Keep your powder application light by using loose powder and a big brush for application. Less is definitely more here. Make sure that you buy a good powder that will sink into your skin, rather than visibly lie of the top of it.

Top tip - before applying your powder, try blotting your foundation with a tissue. This will remove any excess oils, and help to stop you from getting shiny.

Blushing Beauty

Only apply your blush to the apples of your cheeks, and build up the color layers slowly. Next, blend the blush in so that the color looks natural. Remember, youre just trying to enhance the facial definition that you already have. No matter how much we may want to, it is impossible to draw on fantastic cheekbones. Just be yourself!

Top tip - if you make a mistake and put too much blusher on, dont panic! You dont need to start over. Instead, just moisten a sponge and gently dab your cheeks with it. This will dilute the color and return your overall look to something acceptable!

Luscious Lips

Whatever lipstick you use, there is one golden rule to follow... just make sure that it is right for your skin tone, hair and eye coloring. Go vampy for the night time with darker shades, and keep it calm and cute with tinted lip-gloss during the day.

Top tip - if you want great looking shimmery lips try applying sparkling eye shadow over the top of your lipstick to create a new shiny shade, absolutely free!

Powerful Peepers

So long as it as applied in a constant, unwobbly line, your eyeliner can be as bold as you wish. Use lighter shades of eye shadow during the day, and go darker at night. A shimmering highlighter applied just beneath the eyebrow gives even the most tired looking peepers a lift. And always apply your mascara in thin coats, building up the length and thickness slowly. This helps to avoid that terrible clumping which can happen it you try to apply too much, too soon.

Top tip - blend your eyeliner with a thin layer of eye shadow. This will make your eyes look absolutely magnetic!

Smokey Eyes - Best Smoky Eyes Look Tips, How to Get Smokey eyes Look

Eye makeup tips often include advice on creating a smokey look. Some suggest black eye cosmetics, but you can try a slightly lighter shade of eye makeup like coffee or chocolate brown. Lining your eyes with charcoal black eyeliner can make eyes look very small. Perhaps just lining the outer corners of your eyes would enhance the smokey look. Try both and see which you prefer.

How to apply smokey eye make-up?

The crease is very important to the smokey eye and it needs special attention. With a taupe colored shadow, or a mixture of gray and brown, pick up a small amount (to begin), and work it into the crease area. Continue until the area is well defined, with lots of attention to the blending process. Remember, the look we are after is smokey.

With your favorite mascara, coat lashes so that they play up the darkness of the eye area. Several coats might be necessary.
How to Get Smoky Eyes Look?

Here you'll learn the basic step by step instructions for smoky eye look. So, ready to have a smokey eyes look.

That Smokey Look application tips - Step by step smokey eyes

1. Apply the base as you apply for any make-up.
2. Apply mauve or red bronze base eyeshadow on upper and lower lids. Highlight the socket areas with a smoky black hued shadow pigment.
3. Use a slightly thicker eyeliner to highlight the eyes.
4. Curl your eyelashes to give them a smoky look.
5. Apply mascara.
6. Apply mauve or red blush on to complete the look for smoky eye.

Tips on how to do Smokey eye makeup?

* Remember to keep lips nude. When applying strong makeup (like smoky eyes or red lips) put the focus on either eyes or lips, never both.
* Apply white translucent powder below the eye and dust off after applying eye makeup. It will catch any fallen shadow.
* For a bit of fun, try a blue or purple mascara. It will make blue eyes "pop."
* Liner doesn't have to come in pencil form. Makeup experts know eyeshadows make some of the best eyeliners. To do this take an eyeliner brush, wet it, then dab wet brush into the dark shadow. This allows for a deep, precise line. You can also use the dark shadows without wetting brush first. Either way, eyeliner is necessary for smoky eye.

The key to the perfect smoky eye is proper blending. You want to make sure colors are blended together flawlessly.

Permanent Hair Removal

Permanet Hair Removal is one of the most difficult problems to solve, and getting rid of it will often be essential for passing. Anyone who is planning to go full time and is even remotely considering the option of stealth is strongly advised to seek permanent facial hair removal as soon as possible in transition.
Types of permanent hair removal methods

* Electrolysis - Electrolysis or electrology is permanent hair removal by the process of inserting a fine, solid, pre-sterilized needle (wire, or probe) into a hair follicle and applying a small amount of electrical current to permanently destroy the hair growth cells.
Electrolysis is an alternative to laser hair removal. Sometimes this is a good choice for candidates that have very light skin and gray hair.
The electrolysis procedure employs a needle that directs electric or radio wave energy to the hair follicle one follicle at a time. The energy destroys the follicle and the hair does not grow back. There may be slight pain associated with this procedure. If after your consultation you find that you are not a candidate for laser hair removal electrolysis may be an alternative.

* Apilus Electrolysis - Computerized electrolysis offers hair removal treatment gently and effectively using the Apilus unit by delivering treatment in thousands of milliseconds to create a faster permanent treatment.

* Laser - This is removes hair by causing thermal and/or mechanical damage to a hair follicle while sparing surrounding tissues. The popularity of laser hair removal has increasingly grown, prompting many laser manufacturers to conduct research and seek FDA clearance for their lasers for this indication. Lasers cleared for body hair removal are also cleared for facial hair removal.
Light-skinned consumers with dark hair have the best results. Response rates have not been established. Re growth rates have not been accurately established and cannot be predicted due to numerous variables. Generally not as effective on unpigmented (gray) hairs and red or blonde hair.
If you have a darker skin tone, or you tan, lasers must be used very cautiously.
Improper treatment can cause burns, lesions, skin discoloration lasting several months, or patchy/patterned re growth. Can be expensive. Some find treatment painful.

* Flashlamp - This is intended to cause thermal and/or mechanical damage to a hair follicle while sparing surrounding tissues.

* Thermolysis: This is a relatively new method of removing hair. The process of hair removal is the same as electrolysis. The hair is destroyed by coagulating the papilla (the source of nourishment for hair through the use of heat.

Makeup Mistakes

Although almost every single woman uses or at least knows how to use makeup, mistakes are rather often. In most cases these mistakes may be unnoticeable, yet they are vital to the health of your skin. The greatest benefit you will get by getting rid of makeup mistakes is that you won't need to use so much of it, because your skin will naturally become healthier and prettier.

One of the most common makeup mistakes is using wrong colors. It can be anything - eye shadow, lipstick, lip liner, powder or blush. If the colors you apply are too dark or too light, you'll look ridiculous. If you are trying to hide your face color by choosing a darker or lighter foundation you will also look ridiculous, because it's obvious. Your neck or even hand color is surely different, thus pointing out your worthless efforts. This mistake is easily eliminated if you choose carefully and ask a consultant for help. Don't be lazy and this problem won't bother you.

A number of women think that going to sleep with makeup is not a bad habit. Actually it is one of the worst makeup-related habits. Our skin is already rich with its own natural oils. Moreover, it gets coated with a daily blend of environmental debris every day. Can you imagine how your skin suffocates under this "coat"? It's a must to wash your face every evening; otherwise your pores will suffer.

Contouring is acceptable, but only to some extent. Have in mind that using deep contour shades that give the illusion of a sculpted nose or a sharper cheekbone are ok for magazine covers, where lightning and gradations are perfect. However, in natural light you'll look awful with such makeup. You've got to blend those contour shades near invisibility, to make it look like a human outline.

Eyelashes are an excessively delicate feature. It doesn't mean though that you should over-apply mascara. It should be used only to subtly enhance, nothing more. Spidery, clumped-up, wild looking lashes are only attractive to other spiders.

Eyebrows are very important in expressing your moods and feelings. There are two major mistakes to be made while talking about them - wrong color and shape. Visit a professional beautician at least once so he or she could form it according to your face and eye shape. If your eyebrow color is darker or lighter than your hair by a few tones, you should color one of them so it wouldn't make such a contrast. It separates your face into two parts and looks really ridiculous.

Don't forget that your makeup must always look fresh. Having "melting" makeup is probably the worst thing you can do. There are lots of makeup products and it's definitely not that difficult to find a good one. Once again don't be lazy to search and consult so you can find the best products for yourself.

Trying to avoid makeup mistakes will not only make you more beautiful, but will also help your skin. On the whole, using little makeup is the best way out. Take care of your skin properly and you won't have to apply so much makeup; therefore, you won't make any makeup mistakes, have healthy skin and won't risk looking ridiculous.

Once you mastered this task, simply run your brush along the lashes in a smooth direction away from your face. If you want your mascara to appear thick you should apply two coats, if you choose this option it is best that you wait until the mascara dries until you apply the second coat. Asean Make Up Tips

Your black hair, and pale but yellow tonned skin are best complemented by soft, warm colors. These will define your makeup looks and counteract any sallowness in your complexion. Here are some tips on how to apply makeup for asian and indians.
Asian Makeup Tips

1. Applying eyeshadow
- After applying your foundation, concealer and powder, sweep some lilac eyeshadow over your eyelid. This pale colour is a better option than using darker eyeshadows near the eyes asn they have a tendency to make them look deep set, particularly as your eyelids tend to be quite small.

2. Lightly fill your eyebrows with a dark brown or eyebrow pencil to provide a strong frame to your eyes. This will help balance the eyeliner which is going to be applied next.

3. Applying Eyeliner - A lick of blue black eye liner will emphasize your beautiful- shaped eyes, and help correct any droopiness. Slick it along the lower lashes and into outer corners of your eyes to create balance. To prevent the overall look from seeming too harsh, use a cotton bud to soften the eyeliner slightly.

4. Applying Mascara - Place your eyelashes between the edges of a curler, and gently squeeze for a few seconds. Then apply two coats of black mascara.

5. Applying blusher - A warm blusher gives a wonderful boost to your complexion and brings out is natural glow. Dust it over the plumpest part of your cheeks.

6. Applying lipstick - A baby pink lipstick bring your lips fasionably into focus. The cool blue tone to this shade works wonderfully on your colouring.

Tip: Asian eyelashes are often poker straight and so you can really benefit from the use of eyelash curlers.
